The Light at the End of the Tunnel

I think I can see it.  The album is very near completion, which is pretty exciting.  I have put up two more songs from it on various internet locations, so if you feel like listening, feel free to visit.  They are called “There Is No Bad Blood” and “Up North”.  Both have been recorded before, but I think the newer versions are superior (obviously).

Also, I forgot to mention this when it was fresh, but I saw Jon Mueller and Megafaun on Sunday night at The Hideout.  It was fantastic, an overwhelmingly great show.  To see both of those bands at a more intimate space than the last time (I saw Jon at The Empty Bottle and Megafaun at the AV-Aerie) really made for an amazing time.  I was and still am completely blown away.  Check them out if you haven’t done so yet.

New Song, Tracklist

I’ve been using the computer more recently, and I have another new song as a result.  I’ve posted just the bare bones of the track, and hopefully in the next day or two I’ll have it fully finished and available.  It’s called “Norwegian Forest”, and you can listen to it on my Virb account.  It’s not on MySpace because they have a crappy music player with file size limits.  If you’re not into digital sound, it will be included on our debut album Twin Cats when I’m on tour along with two remixes of “False Advertising”, by Plenum and Dos Gatos.

Here is the tracklist [always subject to change]:

01. Up North
02. The River
03. Resignations
04. If This Were a Postcard
05. False Advertising
06. Game Over
07. Veiled Jubilation
08. There Is No Bad Blood
09. A Night at the Optimist’s Club
10. Norwegian Forest*

11. False Advertising [Dos Gatos Remix]*
12. False Advertising [Plenum Remix]*

*Available on tour version of Twin Cats only.

I love King Khan.  In general.  Dude knows how to write the best stuff.  This song is “Welfare Bread”, by King Khan & The Shrines.  It’s on the album What Is?!, which is worth buying.  You should do that.  King Khan & BBQ Show’s album What’s For Dinner? is pretty awesome too.

I’m taking a break from booking.  That’s how this post is relevant.

Summer Plans

This summer, Twin Cats are going to be playing a lot of shows, all over the country.  Official dates will be posted soon, but here is the basic itinerary:

In late June, I’m doing a week of shows in the Midwest with Cabinet of Natural Curiosities.  July 1-17, I’m doing a stretch to the West with Perpetual Dusk at Curtsy Caverns.  Finally, July 20-August 9, I’m going to the East with Doby Watson.

If you live in any of these areas, get in touch, and we’ll hang out.  I’m very excited.

I’m also still working on the album, and it’s going well.  I will have a new demo posted in the next couple of weeks, to give you an idea of how things are going.

Twin Cats Blogging and Stuff

Hello, I’m going to start posting on this page.  We’ll see how it goes.  Right now, I’m working on a full-length album, and I am recording little bits and pieces every day or so.  I’m going to be doing a lot of touring this summer, and I am excited for that.  I’m going on a short one through the Midwest in the middle of June with Cabinet of Natural Curiosities, and then I’m going out to the East coast with Doby Watson in late July through early August.  Details on that soon.  For now, check this, the page on facebook, myspace, you know…the internet is being spread too thin.  Or rather, Twin Cats is being spread too thin across the internet.
